Does a voting record count for what a person values? I believe so, why wouldn’t it? That to me is where the rubber meets the road. You can talk about tax cuts but voting them down while in office seems to be a contradiction. I was told the other day that it isn’t because these politicians are only posturing for another position in government. Needless to say, I was baffled by this response. That is exactly the problem with America, it seems like we are not looking to what these guys are doing but what they say they are doing. Is this just the product of a superficial society? Maybe. I just believe we need to do the actual research and find out what these guys are doing in Washington. How about how they conduct themselves outside of their job. This can be just as important. All we have to do is look back a few years and see former President Clinton for that example. So here is a resource on how votes are being cast:

Voting Record
January 22, 2008 by thepatriot
I was listening to a radio show that said when Mr. Clinton got into all of the trouble with Monica his approval rating went up!
I must admit that I am a voting dummy! I don’t spend the time trying to research candidates and what they actually stand for.
Jay,
That should be the deciding factor for us on voting. We should listen less to what they say but more on the merit of what they do. That is where it all matters. So you can use the site I put on the post or go the actual government websites and research the candidates and the bills they voted on. It is very important that we become a more informed voter. Our founding fathers depended on that.
